September 21st, 80 degrees

Can it just get chilly already?
I want Fall air, cozy clothes, hot cocoa...I am tired of Summer and sweating and feeling uncomfortable.

Last night, G and I watched You've Got Mail, which is one of my favorite movies EVER, and as my brother would say, "It's got great Fall scenes" so it only made sense to watch it in the mood that I am currently in. I was instantly jealous of the Days of Yore, when wearing a light coat in September was necessary. Oh, 1998. How I miss you. I hate you, Global Warming. (Face it, people, IT'S A FACT!)

Tomorrow is the Rilo Kiley show and I am very excited, but slightly stressed over what to wear. Again, weather is a problem...think about it. It's warm when you get there, hot and sweaty inside the venue, and then cold when you leave, and you have a long walk to the car or train or whatever. (Girls, I know you hear me.) I wish that I personally knew Clinton Kelly at a time like this...(P.S.-Does anyone see like, 5 divorces or singlehood for life for Stacy London? Cause I certainly do.)

And oh, get this! I saw a commercial yesterday for 4parents.gov that promoted abstinence until marriage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, children, don't have sexual intercourse until you are 30! Condoms, what are those? Safe sex? NO, no sex! What idiots actually think that people would wait that long to engage in what the media throws in our collective face on an hourly basis? Have you seen a perfume ad lately? It's like straight-up porn. Not to mention, that honestly, I really think people should know what sex with their partner is like before they marry them...sexual intimacy between a couple is super-important. Maybe at the end of that commercial, they should add the disclaimer "WARNING: Most Couples who do not Engage in Sexual Intercourse before Marriage will Most Likely Divorce." Hey, just look at Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. He now knows that screwing in a hot tub with papparazzi around is integral to a sound relationship.

This weekend: Relax or Stress?

Well, I have high hopes for this weekend being a relaxing one, one in which I can wear my favorite boots and maybe something cozy, like a hoodie or a scarf...

However....

The BIG DEAL series is this weekend and I am feeling minorly stressed over it, considering I want the Red Sox to win so bad, it hurts my insides and for two major reasons -

One. I really want to be able to hang out in a Boston bar with Geoff for the World Series.

Two. I really want Mikey Lowell to stay on the team because I LOVE HIM, and winning the series couldn't hurt his chances of remaining a Red Sock.

Other than that, I hope to do a lot of snuggling, eating, buying things I shouldn't buy if I ever want to save any money (including the Pointelle Sweater skirt from Urban Outfitters and the 3rd season of Gilmore Girls on DVD) and hanging out with our bunny and frog.

Amanda and Busy

Work has been really rough this week and dragging so I basically feel like I am here 24/7 and at home/having fun very little lately.
I hope this changes.
I miss some friends, and even more so, some family, especially my brother and Geoff's sister and sister-in-law. And I definitely miss those beach-house weekends.

So lately, I have become (re) obsessed with this Canadian teen show that was on sometime in the 90's called Ready or Not. I was once obsessed with it when I was actually the age of the characters (12-14) and I have rediscovered my love for the spunky Italian tomboy, Busy Ramone and the girly, Jewish romantic Amanda Zimm through youtube.

The show was acutally way before its time and the girls frequently use the terms "masturbate," "pubes," and "dammit!"
This baffles me as I used to watch it on the Disney Channel, and I certainly don't remember hearing these words, but maybe I was a much cooler 13 year old and they didn't faze me.

Anway, I friggin love the show and watch it whenever I can (which is not a lot, unfortunately) and it definitely makes me feel better about life and takes me back to a day when the scariest thing I had to face was my algebra homework and if I should wear sparkly nail polish or not.

Definitely check out the controversial episode "Am I a Pervert or What?," in which Amanda questions her ethical self after she catches Busy's sexy older brother (the very guidy Dominic) in the shower and feels herself a little too turned on. Busy also admits to writing the question about masturbation in their Q&A gym class session.

My personal faves are "Members Only" and "Model Perfect," both featuring Amanda trying to impress the weirdly ugly "popular" girl, Chrissy by stealing an expensive sweater and developing an eating disorder, respectively. (Bet you didn't see that coming.)

Since it is now 5pm and I find myself with some time to kill, I will go check on them now.
